These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Traffic Ticket Buddy website, member portal, and related services (the "Services") provided by Traffic Ticket Buddy ("Traffic Ticket Buddy," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What Traffic Ticket Buddy Is — and Is Not
Traffic Ticket Buddy is a technology platform and subscription service that connects subscribers with independent, licensed traffic attorneys. It is important that you understand the following:
- We are not a law firm and we do not practice law or provide legal advice.
- We are not an insurance product. A subscription is not insurance and does not indemnify you against fines, penalties, or other costs.
- We do not guarantee any outcome. No result — including dismissal, reduction, or any particular resolution of a ticket — is promised or guaranteed.
- The attorneys are independent. The attorneys and law firms we connect you with are independent professionals responsible for their own legal work and judgment.
2. No Attorney-Client Relationship With Us
Using the Services does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Traffic Ticket Buddy. Any attorney-client relationship is between you and the independent attorney or law firm assigned to handle your ticket, and is governed by that attorney's or firm's own terms of engagement and professional obligations.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. You are responsible for providing accurate, current, and complete information and for keeping your account credentials secure. Coverage is available only for tickets issued in states where the Services are active.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
- Plans and billing. The Services are offered on a subscription basis. When you subscribe, you authorize us and our payment processor (Stripe) to charge your payment method the applicable recurring fee — monthly or annual, depending on the plan you choose — plus any add-ons you select.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through the member portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access until then. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and we do not provide partial-period refunds.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. We will give you advance notice of any price change before it takes effect, and the new price will apply on your next billing date after the notice period.
5. Coverage, Waiting Period, and Limits
- Waiting period. There is a 14-day waiting period from your signup date before your first ticket can be submitted. This is a standard measure to prevent fraud.
- Basic tier limit. The Basic plan covers one ticket per rolling 12-month period measured from your signup date. Other personal plans and their limits are described at the time of purchase.
- One stop, one submission. A single traffic stop counts as one ticket submission, even if you received multiple violations during that stop; the assigned attorney handles all violations from that stop together.
- Add-ons and multi-state coverage. Optional add-ons and coverage areas are described at the time of purchase and apply according to the plan you hold.
- Already-resolved tickets. The Services are intended for tickets that have not already been paid or otherwise resolved. A ticket you have already responded to or paid may not be eligible for coverage.
6. Serious and Criminal Violations
Certain serious violations — including but not limited to driving under the influence (OWI/DUI), reckless driving, hit and run, driving on a suspended license, and vehicular assault — are not handled through the standard ticket submission process. If you submit a matter involving such a violation, we will instead work to connect you with an attorney who handles criminal defense through our referral network. These matters are not covered by standard subscription plans.
7. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and any ticket you submit.
- Submit tickets promptly and respond to reasonable requests from the assigned attorney so your case can proceed.
- Use the Services only for lawful purposes and only for your own tickets or those of drivers covered by your plan.
- Not misuse, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services.
8. Intellectual Property
The Services, including their content, design, and trademarks, are owned by Traffic Ticket Buddy or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services without our permission.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we do not guarantee any legal outcome. Nothing on the Services is legal advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Traffic Ticket Buddy and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Traffic Ticket Buddy from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Arizona, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
